Almost Troy-ed…

There they were, down 31-3 with a little over eleven minutes to go in the third quarter.  LSU had done nothing.  It was going to be another humilating defeat in a season of bad defeats.

Jordan Jefferson was in for a fourth down at the three yard line.  LSU had just limped down field.  If they were going to do anything to get back into the game, they needed to score.

My brother and I were talking about our father.  He never believed a game was over until the final second ticked off. He once had to take his two sons home early from a game that LSU was winning big to USC.  USC came back and won.  Dad was really upset that he had missed the end of the game.

This time… LSU scored.  Then, they scored again…and again.. and again.. and again…

Improbable.  Unbelievable.  Thirty-seven unanswered points in a little over a quarter.  I was stunned as I listened to it on XM Radio.  Then, wow, it was on ESPN360 and I watched the end of the game on the internet.

It shouldn’t have been that close.  It shouldn’t have been even a game.  But, it was… and LSU escaped with one of the best victories of the year.

Now, I have to tell Little George that he was right and I was wrong.  He said last year that we’d play for a national championship with two losses.  That had never happened and so I told him that he was probably wrong.  He said today that they’d come back.  LSU has never come back from this big of deficit in one quarter.  He was right.  I was wrong.

I guess IV is more like Jr. than III.  Gotta love what the Lord does inside families between generations!

Pride cometh before the fall…

Earlier this week, Ricky Jean Francois’ comments about taking Tim Tibou out of the game disgusted me.  I can understand thinking it, but you certainly don’t say it.  Don’t say it.  Don’t run your mouth before a game.  Don’t trash talk.

All season I’ve been saying at church that the rankings didn’t matter.  I surely hope that now they don’t matter to LSU.  WOW.  It’s been since 1996 that LSU has had 50 points put on them by Florida.

So the lesson here:  Don’t make prideful comments before the game.  And if you do, back them up…

LSU outlasts Auburn 26-21!!!

WOW.  Someone get me a new heart.  I can’t handle it.  WoW!

Jarrett Lee, a red-shirt freshman from Brehnam, TX just lead LSU to a thrilling victory against Auburn.

Lee broke my heart in the second quarter throwing a terrible interception.

Then, he bounced back to lead LSU to a game-winning score with a minute to go.

WOOW!!!!  Check it out here

Defending the Championship!!!!

LSU vs. Appalachian State….

The Game has been moved to 10AM (GREEEATTT!) because the Hurricane Evacuation!

I’m … excited…

I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to read the articles on the football team.  So, I’m going into this season practically blind!

Big Questions:  Quarterback.  How will they do?  They don’t have to be superstars, just good.  They just need to play within themselves.

So… we wake up to LSU football tomorrow.

HOW WILL I SLEEP?

I don’t think I will…

At least, I’ll get work done!!!! Geaux Tigers!
